There is a change to the Well Made Music format: I’m doing all my speaking at the start and then playing all the music with no interlude for the remainder of the podcast. This way, except for the bit at the start, you won’t have to hear me wittering on. Leave a comment on the blog or e-mail me with your thoughts on the new format.

Music in podcast 18 is as follows:

Artist – Ai Yamamoto
Song – Guitar Letter
Location – Melbourne, Australia
Band members – Ai Yamamoto
Information – Ai tells me she collaborates with Rayceless from Curse ov
as the group Pompo’s Paw. She
also hints at an album coming out this year either from America or

Artist – Aoyoma
Song – Caravane
Location – Paris, France
Band members – Fabrice Mougin
Information – Fabrice Mougin composes for television. The Aoyoma project was
born with these ideas in mind: to tell stories, draw paintings, create an
atmosphere and put characters on stage. With Aoyoma, unlike his work for
television, the film is imaginary. The song Caravane is about the desert and
it’s people.

Artist – Electric Skychurch
Song – Heaven
Location – Los Angeles, USA
Band members – James Lumb
Also athttps://cyberset.cc/artists.php?tr_artist_id=24
Information – Electric Skychurch were brought to my attention by Justin at
Cyberset Records in San Francisco. Thank you, Justin.

Artist – Daniel Masson
Song – Bingo
Location – Somewhere in France
Band members – Daniel Masson
Information – Daniel’s music has featured on many compilations including
Buddha Bar VI, one of my favourite loungey cds.

Artist – I Am Dog Biscuit
Song – The Love
Location – Brighton, UK
Band members – Karl Hagar
Information – At the time of writing Karl said there was “Not much to report
from Canine Snack production. Usual mess of things on the go, works in
progress so to speak”. Karl has a video recently uploaded to his Myspace
page. I’ve seen it, it’s nice work and you can view it here.

I would like to thank the bands, individuals and labels concerned for the
permission to use their work.

Good music, format change wasn’t bad. The music flowed better but your comments on some podcasts were pretty funny and/or informative. I get the feeling that with the new format you won’t be telling us as much about the rainy weather or how to say “butterfly” in different languages. This is one of my favorite podcasts, keep up the good work!

  2. I’m fighting the temptation to type Hey, Joe. Oops, I just did, sorry.

I’m glad you think the music flowed better, that was the main idea. I hope not to lose the flavour of the old format. I’ll still be doing an intro and I’d like to make the blog more individual, give it some personality, rather than it be the purely information only blog it has been up until now.

Anyway, thanks for the comment and please keep listening.

Just listening to the podcast now and I think it’s excellent! I’m not sure about the format change, it makes it a bit less personal but the music on 18 is really great. Ai Yamamoto is my favourite so far. If it were my podcast I think I would play 2 or 3 songs then talk for a short while then another group of two or three. You have a really radio friendly voice too, I find it quite difficult listening to people talking on podcasts and the like sometimes but I like your voice. If you find the time check out my bands website, I hope this comment has been helpful!

  4. Hi Adam

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. I’m not married to the format in WMM 18. In fact I’m open to WMM not having a fixed format at all, so I might just give your idea a shot.

With the format of WMM 18 I’m hoping the blog will make up for the lack of a personal touch to the podcast, we’ll see.

I visited your Myspace page. Full on melancholia, and I mean that in a good way.

  5. Adam says:

Thanks a lot. I eagerly await the next podcast and I’m going to work my way backwards through all of them over the next few days. Have a good couple of weeks! Adam.
